It's been a long break, because after the last post more than a year ago I reflected and realised that I had too many blogs and too much of my life was becoming online and not life itself.
So I stopped posting all my blogs and I've just decided to come back to focus on this one because diabetes is part of my life.
When I last posted I was making headway towards the goal weight, with a target of 68kg. I hit a small flat spot and leveled out just before Xmas 2006. But the good news was that after swinging into normal routine again post-Xmas and into 2007 I managed to get a regular decline down to 67kg, which was better than my expectations and goal.
I'm still going to the gym four times a week, and watching my eating, and I am staying at around 67kg and sometimes into 66.5kg.
As I have said in the past, my "magic formula" is:
- eat less; and,
- exercise more.
Needless to say I am pleased with the end-result of the effort over the last year+ in both reducing weight and increasing my fitness. I'll post more about some of the benefits which have sprung from this effort in terms of my diabetes and fitness.
Just to bring the previous series of posts to an end, the table below shows how things ended up.
